What is a CMY Cube?
A CMY Cube is a translucent geometric object that lets you see light the way a physicist sees it. The name comes from the three primaries that mix every colour you see: cyan, magenta and yellow.
Hold one to a window, turn it slowly, and watch the colour shift. As white light passes through each face, some wavelengths are absorbed and others travel on. By the time the light has crossed two or three coloured layers, what comes out the other side is a brand new colour, born from the cube itself.
That process is called subtractive colour mixing, and it's the same physics that paints rainbows and stains glass cathedral windows. It's the reason mixing paints feels different from mixing light. It's why a magenta face plus a yellow face gives you red instead of orange. And it's the whole reason CMY Cubes exists: to put that piece of physics in your hand and let you play with it.
Every product in our range is a different way to experience the same idea, whether it's a single cube, a Platonic solid, a puzzle, or a squishable PolySquish.
Who is CMY Cubes for?
Anyone curious about light, colour, geometry or beautiful objects. CMY Cubes sit on physicists' desks, in classrooms, on coffee tables, in sensory rooms and in art studios. They're built for hands of all sizes and abilities, children and adults alike.
Does the cube need light to work?
Yes, and the brighter the better. A sunny window, a desk lamp, a phone torch. The stronger the light source, the more vivid the colour mixing.

What is a PolySquish?
A sensory squishy in our geometric range. A soft translucent outer shell, filled with a soft, nontoxic gel. Designed for stretching, squeezing and fidgeting.
What's inside the PolySquish gel, and is it safe?
The gel is made from maltose, which is a naturally occurring sugar. It's nontoxic and skin safe. If it leaks it's sticky, but completely harmless to touch. It isn't designed to be eaten, even though the main ingredient is a food sugar, so please keep it out of mouths and away from pets. Wipe any spills up with soap and warm water.

My PolySquish feels rock hard. Is that normal?
The gel can stiffen in cold weather. Try running it under warm water for a minute, resting it on a sunlit windowsill for half an hour, or holding it in your hands for a few minutes of body heat. It softens right up.

How long does a PolySquish last with normal use?
With careful play, a long time. PolySquish is a soft shell sealed around a liquid filling, so over many months of stretching the seal can loosen. If yours leaks or the plug works free during normal use within seven days of receiving it, send us your order number and a photo at hello@cmycubes.com and we'll sort a replacement. This applies to items bought directly from cmycubes.com and not from the Seconds range. After the seven day window, normal wear and tear isn't covered.

Can I repair a loose PolySquish plug?
If you'd rather try a repair than wait for a replacement, customers have had reasonable luck with E6000 or similar silicone based glues. We can't guarantee how long the fix will hold, so it's a backup option, not a recommended one.

Where can I find product sizes?
Every product page has a Size Guide button beside the size selector. Quick reference: Mini Cube is 30mm x 30mm, Original Cube is 50mm x 50mm, and the Mega Cube is 95mm x 95mm. The C, M, Y and K Cubes come in 30mm and 50mm formats.
Which stand fits which cube?
The GyroStand is sized specifically for the Original CMY Cube (50mm). Drop the cube in corner to corner and it spins a full 360 degrees.
The Cube Stand comes in two sizes, so pick the one that matches your cube. The Original Stand (75mm x 75mm) holds the Original 50mm Cube and the C, M, Y and K Cubes. The Mini Stand (45mm x 45mm) is only for the Mini Cubes (30mm) and won't safely hold the Original or the Mega.
If you've bought a cube and a stand that don't fit each other, email us before your order ships and we'll swap you to the right one.
Does the stand come with a cube?
No. Stands are sold separately. Each product page lists exactly what's included.

Can I choose the colour or shape of my PolySquish?
Right now, PolySquish is blind box only. Every bundle is sealed and packed completely at random, so the shape, colour and any "secret" pieces are a genuine surprise.
A Choose Your Own option is the most requested feature in our inbox and is on our radar. We'll announce it on the site and in the newsletter when it's ready.
Will my 16 or 20 bundle contain one of every shape and colour?
Usually a good variety with few duplicates, but because the bundles are sealed before they reach us, we can't see inside and we can't guarantee a full set. The larger the bundle, the better your odds.
I got duplicates in my PolySquish bundle. Can I swap them?
Duplicates are part of the blind box nature, so we can't swap individual pieces out. The two things customers do most: order a second bundle for variety, or swap with a fellow CMY collector.
What's in each bundle?
Each bundle page lists every inclusion in the description. The PolySquish bundles, in size order: The Squishy 8 (eight blind boxes), The Power 12 (twelve blind boxes), The Ultimate 16 (sixteen blind boxes, your best shot at completing a set), Collectors 20 (twenty blind boxes, the biggest PolySquish bundle).
For the cubes, packs like the CMY Pack, Poly Pack, Collector's Pack and Ultimate Pack group the Platonic solid range at a discount. The CMY Discovery Bundle is our STEAM kit (1 Original Cube, 1 PolySquish, 1 CMY Klean, 1 set of Prism Pencils).

Is the CMY Klean cloth included in my bundle?
Some bundles include one, some don't. The inclusion list is on the product page. If a Klean was promised in your bundle and didn't arrive, email us with your order number and we'll send one out.
Where's my Brilliant Minds Colouring Sheet?
That one's a digital download, delivered to the email address on your order. Check your inbox and your spam folder for the download link. If you can't find it after 24 hours, email us.
Are "secret" or rare PolySquish pieces guaranteed?
No, but here's the maths. There are 16 unique shape and colour combinations to collect, with 4 rare variants mixed in. On average, 1 in every 10 boxes contains a rare. Bigger bundles increase your odds, but there's no way to guarantee a specific rare on a single order.

What does "Seconds" actually mean?
Seconds are pieces with known cosmetic or structural imperfections. They might have a small chip, a peeling film, a sticky surface, a loose plug or a leaking seal. We sell them at a discount so they get used and loved instead of thrown away.
Can I get a refund or replacement on a Seconds item?
No. Seconds are sold as is. No refunds, exchanges or replacements, even if the seal lets go or the gel leaks. The lower price reflects the trade off.
If you want full warranty protection, the standard (non Seconds) range is the way to go.
What kind of defects should I expect on Seconds?
PolySquish: a sticky or hardened surface, a plug that may loosen, a seal that may leak. Cubes: small chips, scratches, or sections where the colour film is peeling. Puzzles: tight or imperfect cuts on some pieces.
We don't grade individual defects, so every Seconds piece is a gamble.

Can I edit, add to, or cancel my order after I place it?
You have a two hour window from purchase to edit your order yourself. Look for the pink Edit or View My Order button at the bottom of your order confirmation email.
After two hours, email us at hello@cmycubes.com with CHANGE or CANCEL in the subject line and we'll do our best. Once the order has been picked or shipped, we can't guarantee a change. Our office runs on Australian time, so requests sent on weekends or public holidays may miss the cutoff.
My invoice or payment link isn't working.
The most common cause is the email landing in your spam or junk folder. Check there first. If it's still missing, email us at hello@cmycubes.com and we'll resend.
Why was my order cancelled?
Occasionally Shopify's automatic fraud detection cancels an order it considers high risk. If that happens, we'll email you and you're welcome to reorder.
My invoice total doesn't match the sum of the items.
A few cents of difference is usually how Shopify rounds discounts at the cart level versus the line level. If the gap is larger than that, send us your order number and we'll walk through it with you.
Can I switch the currency I'm browsing in?
Yes. Scroll to the bottom of any page on cmycubes.com and pick your currency. Prices and shipping thresholds update accordingly.
Why did I get two invoices?
Usually because an order edit triggered a fresh invoice while the original was still active. If you've received two, email us and we'll confirm which one is current.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide from our home base in Sydney, Australia.
Shipping within Australia
Standard Postage (Australia Post): $12 AUD, or free over $100 AUD. Express Postage (Australia Post): $20 AUD.
Dispatch is typically 1 to 3 business days. Express relates to transit time only and our standard dispatch window still applies.
Metro standard: 3 to 5 business days. Rural and WA standard: 5 to 10 business days. Metro express: 1 to 3 business days. Rural and WA express: 3 to 7 business days.
Shipping internationally
Standard Shipping (Australia Post): $10 USD, or free over $65 USD. Express International (Australia Post): $20 USD. Express International (UPS): $50 USD.
Estimated transit: Standard and Australia Post Express take 7 to 10 business days. UPS Express takes 3 to 7 business days. Delays at customs and with local carriers are outside our control.
What's the difference between "Fast Shipping" and Express?
Fast Shipping moves your order to the front of our dispatch queue so it's packed and lodged sooner. It doesn't change the courier or the in transit time. Express Shipping is a faster carrier service. If you need a parcel by a specific date, pick the Express option.
Customs, taxes and duties
Local import taxes and customs duties are the customer's responsibility, not ours. If your parcel is held by customs and not collected or paid for in time, it may be returned to us.
Customers in Brazil, China, South Korea, Italy or Mexico
We need your local Tax ID to ship to these countries. If you weren't prompted for it at checkout, email it with your order number to hello@cmycubes.com. We can't dispatch your order without it.
What is Shipping Protection?
Shipping Protection is an optional add on at checkout, priced at $2.97 AUD. If your parcel is lost or damaged in transit, we'll replace it once at no extra cost.
What it covers: parcels lost in transit, parcels marked delivered but never received (we'll investigate with the carrier first), and items that arrive damaged during transit.
What it doesn't cover: change of mind, damage caused after delivery, and parcels returned to sender because customs duties or local taxes weren't paid in time or because the address was incomplete.
Shipping Protection covers one free reshipment per order. If your order is lost a second time, our standard reship fee applies.
Should I add Shipping Protection to my order?
For international orders, we recommend it. Longer transit times, customs handling and busier carriers all increase the small chance of a parcel going missing, and $2.97 AUD is a low price for peace of mind.
For Australian orders, it's optional. Australia Post is reliable for most domestic routes, but it's still nice to have if the order is a gift or you're shipping to a busy apartment or shared address.
Without Shipping Protection, a $10 USD reship fee applies if your order is lost, or we can process a refund instead.
What is a pre-order?
Items marked PRE-ORDER are not yet in stock. The product description shows the estimated restock window (typically 15 to 30 days, sometimes longer). If you place an order containing both in stock and pre-order items, the whole order ships together once everything is available. Need an in stock item urgently? Place it as a separate order.
When will I get my tracking number?
As soon as your order ships, the tracking link is emailed to the address on your order. International parcels travel via Australia Post regardless of your country, so the initial tracking sits with auspost.com.au and hands off to your local carrier once it lands.
My tracking hasn't updated in days. What now?
Tracking can go quiet during the customs handover, especially internationally. If there's been no movement for over 7 days domestically or 14 days internationally, send us your order number at hello@cmycubes.com and we'll open an investigation with Australia Post.
My tracking says delivered but I didn't receive it.
Frustrating. Start here: check with household members and neighbours, check any parcel locker, safe drop or building reception, and confirm the address on the order is correct.
If it's truly missing, email us with your order number and we'll request proof of delivery from the carrier. From there: if Shipping Protection was applied, we'll reship for free, once. If not, we'll either reship for the $10 USD fee or process a refund.
How long does a lost parcel investigation take?
Australia Post investigations typically take 2 to 4 weeks. Where the carrier confirms the parcel is lost or returned, we move straight to refund or reshipment. We don't make you wait the full window if there's a faster, fairer answer.
My parcel was returned to sender. What now?
We'll email you when it arrives back at our warehouse. You can reship to the same or a corrected address for a $10 USD fee, or take a refund (less any non-refundable shipping costs).
Can you guarantee a parcel for a specific date?
We can guarantee dispatch within our standard window. We can't guarantee carrier delivery dates. For time critical orders (birthdays, weddings, events), choose Express and place the order with plenty of buffer.

My item arrived damaged. What do I do?
We're so sorry that's how it turned up. That's never the experience we want for you. Here's what we need: your order number, and a clear photo of the damage.
Send both to hello@cmycubes.com and we'll arrange a replacement straight away. A new order number and fresh tracking will follow. This applies to items bought directly from cmycubes.com that aren't Seconds.
Something's missing from my order.
Large orders sometimes ship in multiple boxes. Before you do anything else, check the tracking for any additional parcels in transit. If everything has arrived and items are still missing, email us with your order number and a list of what you received versus what's missing. We'll cross check with the warehouse and get the missing items dispatched.
I received the wrong item.
Send us your order number and a photo of what arrived. We'll compare against the original order and make it right.

What's your returns policy?
If your item arrived faulty (a chipped corner on a cube, a leaking PolySquish, a peeling film, a defective puzzle), email us at hello@cmycubes.com with your order number and a photo. We'll arrange a replacement straight away.

Can I exchange a product if I change my mind?
We don't offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind. Once a product has been opened, it isn't in sellable condition, so we can't take it back into stock.
Our suggestion: gift it to someone you love. A CMY Cube makes a beautiful surprise for a friend, a teacher, a colour-obsessed niece or anyone who hasn't met one yet.

Seconds are not eligible for refund, exchange or replacement, even for faults. See the Seconds section above for what to expect.
How do I cancel?
Within two hours, use the Edit or View My Order button in your confirmation email. After that, email us with CANCEL in the subject line. If we can stop fulfilment, we will. If the order has shipped, we can't.

Do you sell wholesale?
Yes. If you run a toy shop, museum store, gift shop, hobby retailer or science store, email wholesale@cmycubes.com and our wholesale team will set you up with the catalogue and pricing.
Can I order in bulk for a wedding, school, classroom or corporate event?
Absolutely. Mini Cubes make beautiful wedding favours, classroom sets and corporate gifting. Email wholesale@cmycubes.com with your quantity, timing and destination, and we'll come back with a quote.
Do you offer school or community donations?
We review donation requests case by case. Send us a short note at hello@cmycubes.com with who the donation is for and how the cubes will be used. Stock is tight, so we can't say yes to everyone, but we look at every request.

How should I clean my cube?
Use the CMY Klean cloth, or a soft, plain microfibre cloth. That's it. No water, no sprays, no glass cleaner, no all purpose cleaner. Anything wet or chemical can damage the coloured film and compromise the colour mixing.
How do I keep fingerprints off my cube?
A quick wipe with the microfibre. For long term display, a stand keeps it off your fingers entirely.
Can I run my cube under water?
No. Water can lift the colour film at the edges. The Klean cloth dry is all you need.
Can the PolySquish go in water?
The outer shell can handle a splash, and warm water is fine for softening a stiff one, but don't submerge it or leave it soaking.

Do you accept NDIS payments?
Yes. CMY Cubes supports NDIS participants, including self managed, plan managed and agency managed plans. Our NDIS Information Page walks through how to order depending on how your plan is managed, what categories our products fall under, and how to access your invoice.
I bought from a retailer (Amazon, Learning Express or a local store). Can you help directly?
The first stop is the retailer where you bought it. They handle returns and replacements under their own policies, and we restock them through our wholesale team.
If they're unable to help, ask them to email us and we'll sort the replacement on their end. We can't replace items directly for customers when the purchase was through a third party, because we have no order record on our side.
How do I know if I'm buying an authentic CMY Cube?

How does your affiliate program work?
We run our affiliate program through Goaffpro. Sign up at our Affiliate page. Commissions are tracked there and paid out on the schedule listed in the program.
When do affiliate commissions get paid?
Payment schedules are listed inside the Goaffpro dashboard. If you have a specific commission question, email hello@cmycubes.com with your affiliate handle and we'll check on it.
